Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Head of UNESCO’s ASPnet Network, Ms. L. Ruprecht

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, April 22, in an exceptionally positive and constructive atmosphere between the Head of UNESCO’s Associated Schools Network (ASPnet), Lydia Ruprecht, officials of the Greek National Commission for UNESCO, partners of the Hellenic Society for the Promotion of UNESCO Ideals (EEE UNESCO), and representatives of schools.

In particular, representatives attended from the 3rd Primary School of Zografou, the Varvakeio Model Gymnasium, the Franco-Hellenic Ursuline School (Lyceum), the 1st Vocational High School of Agia Paraskevi, and the 2nd Primary School of Karystos. Also participating were Ms. Vera Dilari, National Coordinator of ASPnet in Greece; Ms. Evangelia Georgaki, ASPnet expert; Prof. Nikolaos Zouros of the University of the Aegean, member of the Board of EEE UNESCO and holder of the UNESCO Chair on Geoparks and Sustainable Development of Island and Coastal Areas; Prof. Dimitris Vergados of the University of Piraeus and holder of the UNESCO Chair “Creative Cities in Motion: Urban Sustainable Mobility and Utilization of Cultural Resources”; Prof. Fotini Asderaki of the University of Piraeus and member of the Educational Contribution Awards Evaluation Committee; Ms. Polina Bithara, Head of the Education Sector of EEE UNESCO; Ms. Christina Boulakaki, Head of the Culture Sector; and Mr. Giannis Manolis, Head of the Environment & Sustainable Development Sector.

The participating schools presented activities carried out within the framework of their involvement in the ASPnet network. This was followed by a discussion on UNESCO’s educational priorities for the next fifteen years.
